Yes. Already.
It's hard to believe, really. I'm consistently surprised that my days seem to be losing their friction. This is always a dangerous time because that usually means I'm in need of some holiday time, and while I'd like to -- I've only got a few days I can allocate before the baby's due (I want to take a week off when that happens).
Amy and I had a quiet weekend at home. Well, she did. My weekend was also at home, but spent conquering ancient Europe as the Romans. Yes -- a new computer game came out and I spent much of the weekend playing it (with Amy's approval, of course). Not that you're interested, particularly, but it was good fun.
Other than my computer game, we visited on Saturday evening with our friends David and Karen. They've got two daughters (Annabelle and Molly) who seem to really like Amy and I ("Excellent! They're so big!"). Dinner was grand -- Karen's an accomplished cook and I made a pumpkin cheesecake for dessert.
The dessert was something of a tragedy -- but it wound up tasting okay. As you can imagine, it takes time to make a cheesecake, so I spent a couple hours away from my recreation putting it together, and it came out of the oven looking quite good. But... it didn't have time to cool properly, so when moved, it just fell into a disasterous lump of goo. Well, not that bad, but it was pretty bad.
Needless to say, I was rather miffed by the whole affair, but it tasted okay, so in the end, it was ugly but yummy. We'll eat the rest tonight for dessert (we left half with Karen and Dave) and that'll be the end of it 'til next time (November, I warrant). And next time, I know to give it appropriate cooling/chilling time.
Amy's about to hit her 3rd trimester! We're finding this hard to believe, but y'know, time marches on. She's been feeling a bit of movement for the past month or so and is regularly awakened around 3-4am because the boy gets up and starts juggling or something.
Name-wise we've gotten some feedback from our frontrunner -- and it's as varied as you'd expect it could be. My mom, in particular, isn't a fan of it -- but she accepted with good grace the reality that she doesn't really get a vote. :) (only Amy and I do).
As I'm usually writing these around lunch time -- it's time for me to wander afield and find a sandwich.
